The article reports on the case of a 59-year-old man with a ten-centimeter lung mass diagnosed as thoracic schwannoma. He had gastroesophageal reflux disease, for which he was receiving therapy with omeprazole. Schwannomas are characteristically encapsulated and heterogenous, and can demonstrate punctate calcifications. Video-assisted thorascopic surgery should be considered when magnetic resonance imaging shows no evidence of intraspinal extension.
