The article informs that Alzheimer disease (AD), the most prevalent type of dementia, represents the fastest-growing epidemic both in the U.S. and globally. It is noted that nutrition is an important lifestyle factor in dementia prevention. There appears to be a strong relationship between adherence to a mediterranean diet and reduced risk of developing AD.
