Developmental fitness of Aenasius bambawalei (Encyrtidae) reared on Phenacoccus solenopsis reared from different species of host plants.

Aenasius bambawalei is one of the most important parasitoids attacking Phenacoccus solenopsis. Studies were conducted to measure and compare its developmental rate, and parasitism using A. bambawalei feeding on 4 species of Malvaceae. Maximum parasitism and shortest developmental rate were measured on Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. Implications of our results for rearing this parasitoid are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
