There are many infectious diseases that the newborn can acquire during the passage through the birth canal. Since the evolution of the medical world, the transmission risk during childbirth has declined severely but it’s not non-existent. We included several studies discussing the most important infections that can be transmitted intrapartum and that can have neurological outcomes.
