The article presents the authors' insights on the use of antisecretory medication after an antireflux surgery in patients with Barrett's esophagus (BE). The authors say that Ciovica and colleagues' commented on the study that the treatment would eliminate the risk of dysplasia and cancer progression. However, the authors argue that patients and surgeons should not assume that the risk of cancer can be remove by antireflux surgery alone.
