This article discusses a retrospective cohort study that aimed to assess the feasibility of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT) followed by minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE) for borderline resectable esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The study included 33 patients with clinically borderline resectable T3 tumors, and the short- and mid-term oncological outcomes were assessed. The study found that NACRT followed by MIE was feasible and resulted in acceptable local control as mid-term oncological outcomes for cT3br ESCC. However, the study had limitations such as a small sample size and short follow-up period. [Extracted from the article]
