Identifying the cells responsible for Glioblastoma (GBM) initiation and propagation will facilitate a better understanding of cancerogenesis and aid in the development of more effective therapeutics. These regions subsequently developed gliomas, providing strong evidence that an SVZ stem cell may be the tumor cells of origin in malignant gliomas. Currently, there is no consensus on the GBM cell of origin [[1]] However, most data suggest stem cell and astrocyte de-differentiation theories as the most viable GBM mechanisms of etiology.
