Ligularia pseudolamarum, a new species from southeastern Xizang, China, is described and illustrated. It is tentatively nested in L. sect. Ligularia ser. Ligularia based on its pinnate–palmate leaf venation, racemose synflorescence and pappus which is as long as or slightly shorter than the tubular corolla. Within the series, it is apparently closely related to both L. lamarum and L. subspicata, however, L. pseudolamarum is easily distinguished from the latter two species by its stem indumentum, leaf margin, bract texture and color, capitulum number and ray floret number and size. In addition, a distribution map and a diagnostic key to all Chinese species of L. ser. Ligularia are also provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
