The article presents a case study related to extremely low-birth-weight, premature infant estimated to be 26 weeks gestational age by ultrasound at presentation was born at the hospital with a maternal history significant for no prenatal care. Topics include the infant has admitted to the intensive care unit following delivery and umbilical artery and vein catheters were placed, and the infant has treated initially with ampicillin and gentamicin while sepsis screening with blood culture.
