The article focuses on the study of old patients being diagnosed with total knee arthroplasty (TKA). It mentions that despite of prosthetic joint infection (PJI) the number of salvage amputations and arthrodeses related to PJI has decreased. It mentions that the patients who recieves amputation will die than those who received arthrodesis.
