At present studies the scheme of wind waves parameters calculations by the Simulating WAves Nearshore Model SWAN using a sequence of nested grids to estimate of the changes of wave climate interannual variability in the Sea of Azov and the Caspian Sea was developed and implemented. Taking into account the specifics of the atmospheric processes over the seas the data of NCEP/NCAR reanalysis was clarified. These data are used as input information into the SWAN model. The ice cover (annual data) taken into account in the calculations. The continuous calculations of wind wave parameters - Significant Wave Height (Hsig), Wave Length (Wlen), Wave Direction (Dir), Wave Period (Tm) for the XX-XXI centuries for the Sea of Azov and the Caspian Sea were carried out. The comparison with the published literature materials and open meteorological databases was performed. The basis for the identification of the main regularities of the wave climate for both seas is shown. Preliminary analysis of the long-term statistical characteristics of the wave parameters is represented in the article. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
