This report describes the successful surgical management of abdominal abscessation secondary to Strongylus edentatus migration. Abdominal abscesses are a relatively common source of recurrent fever in the horse and are primarily managed with long-term antimicrobial administration. However, identification of the definitive cause, extent of the abscesses and successful resolution in this case were not possible without an exploratory celiotomy to facilitate surgical resection.
