The article presents analytical toxicology research into the development and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) validation of a recombinant glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH)-based homogeneous immunoassay for the detection of norbuprenorphine and buprenorphine as drugs of abuse in human urine. The recombinant glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase-based homogeneous immunoassay demonstrates more than 95 percent correlation with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and has a detection limit of one nanogram per microliter.
