The article discusses a study which examined the relationships between changes in tissue and circulating microRNA (miRNA) levels associated with different animal models and human pulmonary hypertension (PH). Topics discussed include the context-dependent changes in tissue and circulating levels seen in miRNAs with established etiologic roles in PH, and findings which indicate that different miRNA-dependent mechanisms may contribute to experimental and clinical PH.
