Chinese dancing as a subject in higher education is still in its developing stage. Some colleges and universities focus their education solely on the study of professional knowledge and intentionally, or unintentionally, neglect the psychological education issues such as the development of students’ willpower. The development of students’ professional learning of willpower will not only affect individual students, but will also have an impact on the entire education system. This study randomly selected 30 juniors in the Department of Dance at Hunan University of Technology, China. Questionnaires, experimental methods, and comparative analysis methods were applied to the study. Under the guidance of the Rosenthal effect principle this study attempted to study the development of willpower of Dance majors at colleges and universities. The results indicate that: students who are the main subjects of education through expectation formation, expectation delivery, and teachers’ feedback activities, are able to pay attention to establishing confidence in professional learning and promote their development of willpower with these positive experiences.
