영문초록 : In Korea, wooden furniture of strong local color have been formed according to the different level of decoration by different life style and varied distribution of trees caused by the geographical features of the Korean Peninsula which has lengthy distance from South to north. This local color characteristics can be most clearly found form BANDAJI among Yi Dynasty's wooden furniture. It can be classified as BAKDAJIs of PYEONGYANG, KYEONGGI, CHUNGCHEONG, CHEOLLA, KYEONGSANG and CHEJU Although KYEONGSAKG-DO BANDAJI's traditional characteristics could be found in various KYEONGSANG-DO areas, its study was insufficient. Accordingly, this study researched KYEONGSANGNAMDO BLYDAJI's district local color following its metal decoration and shape such as CHUNGM BANDAJI, CHINJU BANDAJI, NMIHAE BASDAJI, KIMHAE BANDAJI, MILYANG BAVDAJI and YAVGSAN BANDAJI. First, CHUNGMU BANDAJl has the lowest height among KYEONGSANG-DO BAIYDAJIs. Number of latches are 2,3 on average and it has strong simple and crude feeling Owl shaped decoration was used and it has unique KWANGDUJEONG with method of EUNIPSA. Second, CHINJU BANDAJI has the longest distance between MUNPA and APNEOL. Its unique feature is belly button type decoration which supports a rhomb decorative TEULSOE and TEULSOE. An embossed chrysanthemum type was widely used in this area. Latch has mirror imaged cicada shape. Third, NAMHAE BAINDAJI has the longest width among KYEONGSAYG-DO BAVDAJIs. Metal decoration is YEONBONG type which shapes front area of latch and its pattern shows TAEGEUK pattern, SU letter and various WONTUGAKs. Forth, MILYANG-BANDAJI shows generally big width, height and length. It has almost no proportion of APNEOL and MUNPAN. The shape of latch is CHEBICHURI decoration with PEOSEONKO appearance added with lengthy extention and still embossed pattern which gives splendid feeling. Fifth, KIMHAE BAKTDAJI generally shows small shape in its size but has less width and more height and length than CHUNGMU area. Its unique feature of metal decoration is stressed decorative trend by using tin TEULSOE and KWANGDUJEONG of three layers finished with tin and iron. Finally, YANGSAN BANDAJI shows the tallest height among KYOUNGSANG-DO BANDAJIs. Its unique feature of metal decoration is the nose of latch that latch looks like additional attachment to the connecting axis. It gives tightly packed feeling as its CHEBICHURI latch size shows extended appearance. According to this study of KYEONGSANGNAMDO BAKDAJI, coastal area of NAMHAE, and CHUXGMU generally shapes extended side wide by the influnce of west-southern YEOSU area natural MOKRIMUN appears beautifully as they have less decoration and simple, straight lined shape metal decoration. Besides, MILYANG and YANGSAN, in land area, generally shapes big size by the influnce of upper area. Metal decoration shows curved amd splendid apperance attaching the front side of MUNPAN. As a result, this study was done in an attempt to support our traditional furniture study by boosting the vanishing recognition of our BANDAJI through comparision and investigation of local KYEONGSANGNAMDO BANDAJIs.
