| 520 | ▼b영문초록 : The purpose of this study is to understand the contingency theories of organization and to apply them to environmental adaptation. On the view of mordern organization concepts, organization have three major tasks that are efficiency within organizations, coordination with organizational objectives and personal objectives, and environmental adaptation Among these tasks, environmental adaptation probably becomes most important tasks, because environmental changes impact on the survival and growth of mordern organization. Contingency theory is one of the theories that cope with the change. It is consistent with a system approach only at a abstract level. Contingency theory seeks to understand the functional relationships within and among subsytems as well as between the organization and its environment and to define patterns of relationships of variables contingency theories are ultimately directed toward sugesting organizational designs and managerial system most appropriate for specific situations. There fore, they offer specific guidelines to practicing managers for environmental adaptive activitives. Contents of this study are as follows. Chapter Ⅰ : Scope of study and purpose Chapter Ⅱ : Discription of the formation-background and the specific character of contingency theories through the evolution of theories of organizations. Chapter Ⅲ : Analyzing several variables and the contingency theories that are centingent of technology and environment, presenting the comprehen sive model of contingency theories to adaptate environment. Chapter Ⅳ : Indicating the problems is the application of the contingency theories and researching the direction of evolution. Chapter Ⅴ : Conclusion Contingency theories are very useful, but they have some problems. If continous researches are given to overcome the problems, the contingency theories become more meaningful organization theory and serve as a unifling force for more effective environmental adaption. | |
