520 b영문초록 : Edang Wun-Ho Kim was born in 1892-at the end of the Lee dynasty the most confused historical conversion period, Until1 he was tewenty years old, he wonder about from place because he was under the great adversity and had 3 hard time of it and had a lot of trouble with the living costs, after these hard, adversity and trouble, by good fortune, he happened to be a diciple under shim-Jeon and so-lim's tuition on august 1912 when he was twenty-one years old, after that showing the most excellent and 재underful painting ability he had painted a great many of portraits and historical figures as a great painter His painting method is a mixture of traditional form and modern realison. He was a great pioneer of our times who had bone a great portion of the tradition connection keeping the coloured painting important points in his own painting style. Generally, his painting career through his training days in the art association of the weriting and painting and the time of his debut. Got into the most highlight active period in the thirties. The field of his activity extended to the The exhibitions held by the weriting and painting association and the cho-son art exhibition He was apperciated as the most great painter in Korea as Chang-Jeon did. That he had developed the new tradition depended on their creation sprit and their excellent painting ability. He had on experience to recieve the reward two times from Japanese art exhibition. at that time, he went to TOKYO Japan to be one of the deciples under the Kyol-Song-so-myong's at the same time studying under to Kyol-Song-so myong. he went to the Tokyo art school the study arts so he had edveloped the modern beauty appreciation. In 1924 when he was in his forties, he teached the oriental painting to the young men intended to train them in the Korea art academy In 1936, he had setablished the cho-son art academy to train the young men. The most important things. He had trained yoon-moon Back and many other his deciples in his atelier. Rack-Chon-Kyon new a days they his deciples, keep a very important position in the field of oriental painting in Korea. His fame and position as a painter was very high so he got the inspect quality from the Cho-Son art exhibition first in Korean. for a long time from the field of art After the world won second, the was kept aside because he was a sympathizer of Japan and also had Pro-Japanse tendency. But with his own painting method with his own believe he had developed the new style painting method. On the certain hase of the traditional ability connected with Shim-Jean and soilim's painting method including the new Japanese painting style he was very good hand at the figure of beautiful woman. He did not imitate the Japanese painting method. He had developed of his own new painting method with his deep believe, In his position of painter with these various change of his works and the connection of the style of the traditional delicate water colour painting and the correct appreciation and review about the inside of the creative realism. The object of this study is to give tre real thought for the method, the traditional painting and the sprit ability. He lived in the same period with Sang-Bom Lee, Kwan-Shick Beon, Yong-U Lee and soo Hyon Ro most of them except him had speciality ot the Southern style painting and the civilion figure based on the water painting but he was only a constant water colour painter. We can call him a the only meritorious retainer who have connect the vein of water colour in the field of the oriental painting in Korea. On the base of like this Edang's painting method and the change of our epoch, I believe that the coming generation will advance for ward to the new panting style, and also believe that it will be a good guide for the coming generation.
