520 b영문초록 : The conclusion resulted from analyzing the question-paper of this report are as follows: Most high school students have firm national identitues, but not enough to extremely conclude that. The reason is that their perceptions to the question-paper are different from each other. Let me summerize the result from the paper; First, in the concept of national sentiment, many students responded affirmatively with strong affection that they were members of the Republic of Korea. On the other hand, the paper showed that Koreans do not have strong "patriotism". This means that they hardly have the idea that a nation's success or failure has a strong impact on the future of its race. So, it is necessary to have them know the fact that a nation is the life support of its race. And, the practical education for patriotism is really needed more than anything else. Secondly, in respect to national pride in their nation, many students agreed in the fact that to host 88 Olympics in Seoul is good for showing Korea to the world. On the contrary, the pride in Korean history is low, but the prospect for our culture and future Korea is bright. This represents the low estimate of our national history is due to the fact that they are strongly conscious that our history is comprised of successive. So, it is really important to make them know that, in spite of these hardships, we have turned them into a part of our growth. Thirdly, in the sprite of master, they agreed, regardless of their sex, their destinies are up to their own patience. But, 37% of the students responded negatively to the spirit of community that they are the masters of the home, school and their country. This shows that high school students need to have the frequent opportunity to search for self-confidence, which will enable them to have more remarkable master-minds. Fourthly, in the standpoint of today's economy, many students think that they can be rich if they work hard under the current Korean economic system. Nevertheless, 26.7% of the male and 47.9% of the female students think that Korea is still an under developed country. Moreover, 22% of the students think that we can not be rich without the assistance of America. It is a very serious problem for the students to misunderstand that, because our economy is beyond the level of underdeveloped countries and proceeding to the level of highly developed countries. And hence, we need to inform them of the real essence of Korean economy. Fifthly, about the viewpoint of the "unification", 58.8% of the male and 49.6% of the female students gave skeptical responses to peaceful and independent, which, that of North Korea is a misguised one and a falsehood to get a "Red unification". Sixthly, with regard to "politics", they have a great deal of interest in the development of sovereignity. To point out the worrisome factors which are in danger to us, high school students are more anxious about political confusion than about the offence of North Korea. The reason is that they are a post-war generation. So they do not know how cruel the Red Communists were and still are. And also, they are sensitive to the current political situation. 34.4% of the male and 47.8% of the female students consider that demonstration is optimistic to our future. This represents that they are conscious of collegians' demonstration. But, it can be a serious problem. what is more, it threatens our lives and possessions that they have such a wrong idea about the current "leftist thoughts". Because we have North Koreans in front of us, it si necessary to know that the North Koreans are doing all they can to achieve "Red Unification". Moreover, they are making propaganda full of falsehoods to create a Communist South Korea. So, it is must for us to educate completely the need for criticism of radical thoughts. In this way, we increase high school students' ability to challenge the falsehood of communism.
