Summary: The first chapter presents the recurrent discourses and definitions of Bossa Nova and how those perspectives fit Jobim into this artistic framework. The second chapter is an exploration of Jobim's poetic works and how his lyrics inter-relate his works with those of other writers of the period previous to Bossa Nova. The third chapter is an investigative approach to his accounts, essays and memoirs. The fourth chapter investigates the relationship between the print media and the artist Antonio Carlos Jobim and the representation of his image. The fifth chapter analyzes the iconic and discursive representation of Jobim presented in the letters to him from his audience. Those letters reveal the relationship between the fans and the image and remembrance of Antonio Carlos Jobim following his death and how the public's memory of him has been subsequently constructed and organized. I also mention further studies about the influence of Jobim and his work in the panorama of arts, anthropology and press in Brazil.
