Imrnunometric assays for creatine kinase MB (MB-Im) show superior analytical specificity to enzyme activity-based assays such as immuno-inhibition (MB-Act). Of particular concern with MB-Act assays is their susceptibility to interference from atypical forms of creatine kinase. The clinical significance of this problem is not clear. We sought to determine the clinical impact of aberrant MB-Act results in patients admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
