The present study was aimed at scrutinizing various fungicides, plant extracts and bio-agents under in vitro against Phoma exigua causing Ascochyta blight, one of the important foliar fungal diseases of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Among the contact and combi fungicides tested in vitro, chlorothalonil 75 WP proved to be the most effective followed by mancozeb + carbendazim (63% + 12% WP) showing 83.2 per cent and 80.7 per cent mean mycelial growth inhibition of Phoma exigua respectively. Among the various systemic fungicides difenaconazole 25 EC proved to be best followed by carbendazim 50 WP and hexaconazole 5 EC showed 93.2 per cent, 90.4 per cent and 84.7 per cent mean mycelial growth inhibition, respectively. Among various plant extracts garlic clove (Allium sativum) extract @ 10 per cent proved best with 78.0 per cent mycelial growth inhibition over control. Among bio-agents, Trichoderma harzianum was proved as best with 78.40 per cent mycelial growth inhibition.
