This study puts forward a novel form of projection art in media art works in which the materials used are refined while exploring the background, development, characteristics, forms of expression, and artistic effects of special material projection art. In addition to examining the artistic expression significance of this kind of work, through a case study, the content of the authors’ work, specifically fireworks art, are introduced and subsequently analyzed. This paper also discusses the artistry produced by the combination of fireworks art and special material projection art. It argues the need to avoid the damage caused by traditional fireworks and emphasizes innovative transformation of customary things into new art forms.
