[Kim Po-t’aekcha Jungsiho Cheokjae] (b Gwangsan, South Jeolla Province, 1664; d 1717). Korean scholar and painter. A nephew of the scholar–official painter, Kim Jin-gyu (1658–1716), he passed the civil service examination in 1695 and served as a provincial intendant. Kim Bo-taek was recorded under the section on painters in the Donggug Munheon, a 19th-century dictionary of Joseon biography, as a well-known painter of his time. In another undated source, ...
