This study aimed to investigate the job of private kindergarten teachers at a time when young children began normal attendance under infectious-disease conditions. Seven teachers of private kindergartens located in the metropolitan area were asked to record their job performance once a week in April 2022, and individual interviews were conducted in May and June. The job performance log was coded using Excel and analyzed using functional expressions., Interview data were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed. The main findings of this study are as follows. First, the job areas and contents of private kindergarten teachers at the time of young children’s normal attendance in an infectious-disease situation were divided into eight areas, including teaching-learning, young children’s protection, and related job details. With regard to work performance time by job area and content, the teachinglearning area was the highest at 6 hours and 16 minutes, with most time being devoted to cleanliness and health work among young children’s protection in areas other than teaching-learning. Second, private kindergarten teachers expressed the burden of job change related to kindergarten events and simultaneous tasks and demanded a person in charge of cleanliness and administrative tasks related to infectious diseases. This study has implications for presenting basic data on the job characteristics of private kindergarten teachers, that appeared at a time of young children’s normal attendance under infectious-disease conditions.
