This study analyzed how to design a writing education method for strengthening coherence targeting Chinese learners in the KFL environment. To this end, this study analyzed the current state of writing education in Chinese universities and theoretically reviewed the concept of coherence and the principles of writing method design. Focusing on the semantic disconnection problem in the writing lesson, we analyzed how coherence can recover the semantic disconnection problem. Therefore, by utilizing the coherence such as ‘Dicto-Comp’, which can integrate listening and writing, ‘purpose, audience, and context of situation’, ‘macrostructure’, ‘cohesion’, and ‘information distribution’, ‘propositional development’ is explored. An educational method that can be implemented concretely in terms of improvement was suggested. This study will be meaningful in that it analyzes the coherence of writing at the level of content and helps Chinese learners understand how to compose the content coherently when writing.
