TikTok, developed in 2017 in China, has sparked a worldwide craze with its short video, and among TikTok's video content, 'Music + short video' has developed into the most effective promotional method in new popular music. However, as there are two sides to everything, the popularity of TikTok brings opportunities to the music industry, but also brings problems. This paper explored the new mode of music promotion led by TikTok and the characteristics of music propagation in TikTok. It also considered and analyzed the impact of TikTok's promotion mode on music creation, and the possible problems caused by the current copyright cooperation mode between TikTok and the music industry.
