The Locus for Focus(LF)모델을 활용하여 우선순위를 도출하였다.
The objectives of this study were to explore ways to improve programs for strengthening the teaching competence of university instructors and search for support policies by analyzing the current level of teaching competence as perceived them. To achieve these objectives, this study conducted t-tests to examine the differences in the importance and implementation of the overall teaching competence, basic competence, and class competence items. This study also identified the educational needs of teaching competence and priorities by using the Borich needs assessment and the Locus for Focus (LF) model. The results showed that, first, the top priority of teaching competencies was "beliefs and attitudes as an instructor and attitudes toward students". Second, the top priority item for basic competencies was "Provide opportunities for students to express their ideas freely and actively participate in class". Third, the priority items for class competencies were: "Set lecture goals considering the characteristics of the subject (field) and the level of learners; Organize lecture content considering the characteristics of the subject (field) and the level of learners; Design teaching and learning methods by reflecting goals, content, and students' characteristics comprehensively; and Provide appropriate responses and feedback to learning activities, such as students' questions, assignments, and tests." The results of this study will contribute to improving the quality of education by providing the baseline data for establishing effective strategies for bolstering instructors' teaching abilities.
