With prolonged COVID-19, non-face-to-face classes are becoming an indispensable element in education. In particular, when reviews and classes are conducted through computer screens in practice-oriented design classes that require reviews of models, drawings, and designs, the limitations in spatial experience, sense of presence and sense of community become issues. In this study, we explored the possibility of augmented reality and eye-tracking technology as means to compensate for the limitations of non-face-to-face design education. To this end, previous domestic and international studies on augmented reality and eye-tracking were examined for (a) cases of development of each technology, (b) the advantages of each technology for design education, and (c) considerations of augmented reality and eye-tracking for design education. A comprehensive framework incorporating augmented reality and eye-tracking in non-face-to-face design education concludes the study. Results are expected to help educators, students, and developers of related technology.
