The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of the visual design elements among the environmental factors of the welfare facilities for the elderly on the preference and intention of reuse of elderly welfare facilities. This study conducted a survey of the elderly aged 65 or older who visited Seoul-based welfare facilities. In the survey of this empirical study, the visual design elements of healing design included both the exterior and interior of the welfare facility for the elderly. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 25.0 and statistical techniques were applied such as frequency analysis, technical statistical analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The analysis results of this study are summarized as follows. 1) According to a survey of the elderly using welfare facilities in Seoul, the highest preference among visual design elements of healing environment design was texture and the lowest was landscape. 2) A multiple regression analysis was conducted to determine the impact of the preference of visual design elements on the intention to revisit welfare facilities for the elderly. The results showed that independent variables such as gender, age, cohabitation with children, color, texture, and internal information board design factors had a statistically significant effect on the revisit intent of the elderly's welfare facilities, which was the dependent variable. Through this study, the influence of the components of visual design among the healing environment designs of welfare facilities for the elderly was analyzed. It was confirmed that the color, texture, and interior design factors affected the elderly's willingness to revisit welfare facilities.
