In the current trend of accelerated virtual world living, users can immerse themselves in virtual spaces and experience something similar to what they would in reality. The format of visiting real-world museums is also shifting towards a visitor-centric experience, and virtual museums are expanding in forms that are independent from or alternative to physical spaces. In this process, various forms of virtual museums are being created, focusing on user experiences and social interaction. The need for analyzing user experiences is also emphasized. In this paper, we classify exhibition types of third-generation virtual museums currently in operation and establish case criteria. We also examine the concepts of interaction and meaning to establish interaction types based on the interacting subjects. Then, we collect and analyze user experience data for different exhibition types in virtual museums based on these interaction types. The potential for expanding user experience in virtual museums is significant through cooperative relationships among different interaction types. By attempting various forms of virtual representation, there is a substantial potential for transforming virtual museums into communication-centered mediums experienced through users' interactions. This study identifies the impact of interaction type characteristics on user experience and can serve as a resource during the curation phase of planning virtual museums, exploring diverse methods of construction.
