This study examines the relationship between established concepts and variables of beauty medical tourism selection attributes, perceived value, self-consistency, and beauty medical tourism outcomes. Based on previous studies, measurement scales were established and survey questionnaires were constructed, focusing on elucidating the influence and structural relationships between each variable. After conducting a pre-sampling test (distributing 20 questionnaires), data was collected through an online survey. A total of 473 surveys were distributed, and 416 valid questionnaires were used for the study. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 27.0 and AMOS 26.0 software, employing techniques such as frequency analysis, Cronbach's alpha coefficient for reliability validation, calculation of means and standard deviations of key variables, assessment of skewness and kurtosis for testing sample normality, verification of the moderating effect of self-consistency as a mediating variable between independent variables and dependent variables using multiple regression analysis, construction of a structural equation model, confirmatory factor analysis, and bootstrap analysis. The research model consists of ten factors including quality of services, accessibility of services, beauty and medical tourism destinations, intrinsic value, extrinsic value, value of medical products, value of medical tourism destinations, expectations, behavioral intentions and self-consistency. A final model of the structure equations was constructed using confirmatory factor analysis and Pearson correlation coefficient analysis to analyze the detailed relationships among the factors. The hypothesis testing results are as follows: Firstly, hypothesis 1, which examines the influence of selection attributes of beauty medical tourism on perceived value through path analysis, and hypothesis 3, which examines the impact of perceived value on the outcomes of beauty medical tourism, and hypothesis 4, which investigates the influence of selection attributes of beauty medical tourism on the outcomes of beauty medical tourism, were all adopted. Second, using the moderating effect testing method proposed by Wen et al., hypothesis 2, which examines the relationship between the selection attributes of beauty and medical tourism and perceived value moderated by self-consistency, is partially adopted, revealing that H2-c2 is not supported. In other words, while accessibility affects the value of medical products when selecting beauty medical destinations, it is not moderated by self-consistency. Third, by bootstrap analysis, Assumption 5, which verifies the significant mediating effect of perceived value in the relationship between beauty medical tourism choice attributes and beauty medical tourism outcomes, is confirmed. However, among the perceived value factors, intrinsic value, extrinsic value, and medical tourism destination value were found to play a significant mediating role in the relationship between service quality, accessibility, medical tourism destination, expectations, and behavioral intentions. Although most of hypothesis 5 was supported, the mediating effects of medical product value in the relationships between beauty medical service accessibility and expectations, beauty medical service accessibility and behavioral intention, beauty medical tourism destinations and expectations, and beauty medical tourism destinations and behavioral intention were not significant, leading to the rejection of some hypotheses, such as H5-b5, H5-b6, H5-c5, and H5-c6.
