Recently various knowledge and information are active in the form of stories under the title of storytelling. The game industry is growing explosively around the world, and storytelling is also in the spotlight. This is because even if high-quality games are completed by relying only on technology, stimuli that rely only on senses do not satisfy the needs of the modern public. Storytelling, which increases attractiveness by putting stories on resources inside the game, is more economical and permanent than developing and developing technology at a cost and time. Therefore, games should also be based on solid storytelling to improve their quality. However, there are still many cases where the story is still in the excavation stage, and the strategy to attract game users is insufficient. Various studies on game storytelling are being conducted, and there are clearly limitations in specific use because various research fields are different. In this study, a game reality program is defined as a TV game content that is produced by adding commentary or appreciation to the cast after filming a game play video. The purpose was to derive storytelling components of game reality programs in response to the demands of the times so that they can be applied to promotional measures for games. It was intended to verify successful and representative cases of Korea and China, focusing on tvN's "Great Escape" and Mango TV's "Room Escape". These two programs are reality programs that have not only excellent program quality, stable audience, and ever-increasing ratings, but also created a new edition of the game and greatly influenced the game market by creating a closed-door game craze in Korea and China. It is no exaggeration to say that reality programs that deal with the subject of games serve as a link between games and the public. For full-fledged research, first, since the main subject is games, TV game contents in Korea and China that need analysis were examined, and the characteristics of reality programs were identified. Subsequently, prior studies on storytelling and game storytelling were organized to define each and derive components. The overall storytelling characteristics, including content, form, and technology, were identified for the Korean version of “Great Escape” and the Chinese version of “Room Escape”, to derive commonalities and differences. Furthermore, based on the organic connection mechanism between the two program storytelling components, the strategy and direction of game promotion were provided through storytelling. This study begins with the fact that Korean and Chinese games can be used as cultural contents related to the industry depending on the material differentiation video of TV reality programs, and the storytelling components derived from the study are expected to contribute to the development of the game industry to some extent.
