Piping is not only widely used as an application device in all industrial fields such as machinery, electronics, electricity and plants, but also widely used in safety-related fields such as firefighting and chemical fields. Existing air conditioner outdoor unit piping is mostly made of copper, but recently, companies that develop and sell refrigerant piping using stainless steel material, which has higher strength than copper, are appearing. Pipe connection products are also being developed to reduce costs. There are many accidents caused by negligence of welders when connecting pipes, and the importance of non-welding pipe connections is growing as an alternative to welding. The one-touch detachment method is widely preferred recently due to its advantages such as securing air-tightness, speeding up construction, and enabling easy piping work even by unskilled persons. Accordingly, when designing a pipe material by changing it from copper to stainless steel, an evaluation standard for the material change is required, and noise, vibration, stiffness, stability, and robustness according to operating conditions must be evaluated. In this study, in order to verify the performance of two one-touch insert-type hook joints developed by companies and requested verification, the safety of the structure was identified by first obtaining stress and deformation through structural analysis using the finite element method. In addition, when the hook joint is fastened to the pipe, a slight gap inevitably occurs between the pipe and the hook joint, which can cause turbulence. Flow induced vibration characteristics were analyzed and the effect of the hook joint on the flow inside the pipe was reviewed. Through this structural analysis and flow analysis, the safety and flow characteristics of the product developed during non-welding one-touch insert-type connection were verified. As a result of the structural analysis, the stress distribution in the two socket models showed that the model 15.88 socket with a relatively large outer diameter showed a large overall stress, but this stress was significantly lower than the yield stress of each material, so both models showed no problems with structural safety. In addition, as a result of examining the pressure and vibration that occur when connecting a hook joint through flow analysis, considering that the natural frequency of a general pipe is formed at 50 Hz or less, the vibration caused by the turbulent flow can cause the resonance of the pipe. It was judged unlikely. As a result of this structural analysis and flow analysis, it was confirmed that the one-touch insert-type joint connecting the refrigerant piping to the piping was safe in all aspects such as stress, pressure, and vibration. Therefore, it was determined that the performance of the developed product would be efficient if the product was manufactured without defects according to the given conditions of use, drawings and specifications.
