This study focused on the Korean Wave and cultural links between Korea and Türkiye, examining the consumption of Korean Wave content and perceptions of Korea among Turkish students residing in Korea. To investigate changes in perception before and after studying, Turkish students were classified into short-term and long-term residents, and the cultivation theory and acculturation theory were used to analyze the changes in perception of Korea through in-depth interviews. As a result, both groups consumed more Korean Wave content before studying abroad and held positive perceptions of Korea. Short-term Turkish students living in Korea formed positive perceptions of Korean culture and society during the cultural assimilation process and tended to continue consuming Korean Wave content. They emphasized the positive aspects of Korean society and culture and expressed satisfaction with their experiences and perceptions of Korea, also expressing a desire to continue living in Korea. On the other hand, long-term students experienced less optimistic perspective of Korea and Korean Wave content as their stay lengthened. They faced social adaptation difficulties in closely related aspects of Korean life and reduced the consumption of Korean content, turning to Turkish content and gradually separating from Korean culture due to homesickness.
