Nowadays, everyone lives in a globalized world economy and world economic structure. Globalization on a large scale began in the 19th century with increasing economic and cultural links across the globe, and in 2000 the International Monetary Fund defined four fundamental aspects of globalization. These include trade and international transactions, financial and investment flows, population flows, and the spread of knowledge. With the globalization of the world economy becoming particularly important in today's 21st century, it is clear that outward investment has become an important topic and research theme. Among these, investment in China has been a focal topic for nearly several decades. In overseas investment projects, understanding the local situation of the country in question is a very important part of the business of outward investment. In the case of China, for example, the central government publishes a plan for future regional and industrial development every five years. By 2023, China has completed its 13th Five-Year Plan and is in the process of its 14th Five-Year Plan. This paper uses the completed 13th Five-Year Plan to understand the local situation in China, and the 14th Five-Year Plan to understand the future regional development and industrial trends in China. Using the theory of regional division of labor as a background, this paper analyses the current situation of China's four major economic zones and urban and rural economic data based on the 13th Five-Year Plan and sorts out and analyses future Chinese regional development, industry trends, and regional industrial division of labor according to the policies of the 14th Five-Year Plan. The paper also looks at the industrial trends in urban and rural areas in the 14th Five-Year Plan and aims to provide more assistance to multinational companies wishing to enter the Chinese market.
