This study examined the structural relationships between grit, time management, depression, and academic adjustment among Chinese international students in Korean universities. Additionally, it compared differences in variables according to the overseas study program (i.e., undergraduate vs. postgraduate). The participants were 546 Chinese students(143 males and 403 females) studying in Seoul, Korea. First, Pearson’s correlation coefficients were analyzed to examine the relationships between variables. Second, independent sample t-tests were conducted to examine variable differences between undergraduates and postgraduates. Third, confirmatory factor analyses were conducted to validate the study’s measurement model. Finally, structural equation modeling was used to examine whether time management and depression mediate in the relationship between grit and academic adjustment. Results were as follows. First, time management and academic adjustment had a significant positive correlation with the grit perceived by Chinese international students in Korean universities. Meanwhile, depression had a significant negative correlation with grit, time management, and academic adjustment. Second, postgraduates showed a higher level of grit than undergraduates. Postgraduates also showed a higher level of academic adjustment than undergraduates, especially regarding "motivation"and "performance." Additionally, the validity of the study's measurement model was confirmed. Finally, time management and depression were completely mediated in the relationship between grit and academic adjustment, respectively. This study found that Chinese international students' perceived grit, time management, and mental health are vital for their academic adjustment. These findings may aid in the development of educational programs that enhance grit to improve international students' time management behavior, mental health, and academic adjustment.
