With the market economy promoting the continuous development and expansion of enterprise management scale, China's economy is also accelerating along with the pace of the world. In 2005, the European Union made it mandatory for listed companies in its member countries to adopt IFRS to prepare and disclose their statements. In 2006, the Ministry of Finance of China issued an important new accounting standard system, which indicates that the new accounting standards of China converge to IFRS. Ian Ball pointed out that high-quality international financial reporting standards have improved the transparency and comparability of accounting information and brought many favorable influences to accounting circles in various countries, which not only enabled investors to get better decision-making information, but also improved the internal decision-making of enterprises. In 2007, China began to implement the reformed new accounting standards. This reform of accounting standards not only achieves substantial convergence with IFRS, but also makes accounting concepts more perfect, and more specific accounting standards have an impact on the quality of accounting information. Jensen and Meckling(1976) put forward that under normal circumstances, stakeholders usually take accounting data as the effective basis for concluding contracts and take accounting data as the basis for regulating the behavior of both parties. Therefore, the change of accounting information quality will affect the executive compensation contract to a certain extent. This study takes the reform of accounting standards as the starting point and discusses the impact on executive compensation based on the impact of accounting standards on the quality of accounting information. This study puts forward two related hypotheses to study the impact of accounting information quality and executive compensation after the accounting standards reform, and the impact of accounting standards reform on executive compensation of state-owned enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises according to the nature of listed companies in China. This study takes the data of A-shares listed in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2003 to 2018 as the research sample. After the research, it is found that after the accounting standards change, the quality of accounting information of listed companies is significantly related to the sensitivity of executive compensation performance. Besides, after the reform of accounting standards, compared with state-owned enterprises, the executive compensation performance sensitivity of non-state-owned enterprises is more significant. This study combines the accounting standards reform with the quality of accounting information and executive compensation, and it is helpful to expand the related research on accounting standards reform, besides confirming the impact of accounting standards reform on executive compensation.
