The purpose of this thesis is to prepare teaching methods of idioms related to ‘nun(눈)’(eye) for advanced Chinese Korean language learners. To this end, firstly Korean and Chinese idioms related to ‘nun’ were compared and analyzed. In order to find out the current status of Korean idiom education, we analyzed the Korean textbooks widely used by Korean language education institutions and examined the method of presenting idioms in each textbook. Additionally, based on the results of contrastive analyses of idioms related to ‘nun’ in both Korean and Chinese languages and the analysis of Korean textbooks, a specific learning plan was presented for Chinese learners to acquire ‘nun’ idioms efficiently. The contents of this thesis are summarized as follows. In Chapter 1, the purpose of the study is presented first, including a summary of previous studies in Korean language education. And Korean language studies on body idioms. In the contrastive studies, the commonalities and differences between Korean and Chinese body idioms (mouth, eyes, hand, face) were mainly described, but a number of errors were found. Among the studies discussed here, there is a lack of research on body idiom education methods for Chinese learners. In Chapter 2, the concepts of idioms in Korean and Chinese were summarized, and such as the various meanings of ‘nun’ in Korean and ‘眼’ in Chinese. Also expanded vocabularies related to ‘eye’ were analyzed and contrasted. Also, we compared and analyzed idioms related to ‘nun’ in the Korean idioms dictionary and ‘眼’ in 新华惯用语词典. According to the forms, Korean-Chinese idioms are classified into 5 types as ‘idioms with the same form and meaning’, ‘idioms with the same form but different meanings’, ‘idioms with the same meaning but different forms’, ‘idioms only in Korean’, ‘idioms only in Chinese’. Chapter 3 analyzed the educational status of Korean body idioms through textbook analysis and surveys. The textbooks were selected from four universities, that are widely used in Korea. According to the frequency, body idioms in each textbook were divided and presented as a list. In this study, the order and presentation methods presented in the textbooks were examined by limiting the research subject to 'nun' related idioms. Through the survey, it was confirmed that the level of understanding of idioms related to ‘eye’ was low. Chapter 4, the core part of this thesis, presented practical educational methods that can effectively teach advanced Chinese learners how Korean ‘nun’ related idioms are used. This paper proposed that it is important to take into consideration the type of idioms in order to teach ‘nun’ related idioms efficiently. Chapter 5 summarizes the contents of the thesis as a conclusion, and presents the meaning and remaining issues of this thesis.
