Consumption of cosmetics has been increasing due to recent improvement in living standards and interest in cosmetics, and the cosmetics industry has been steadily growing in the 2000s. Competition among companies in the cosmetics industry is intensifying due to an increase in cosmetics consumption. As more and more competitors are added to the same market, the distinction between products will weaken, chances of leaving customers will increase, which can lead to a decrease in brand loyalty. Therefore, cosmetics companies are striving to maintain their relationship with customers through various marketing activities based on the customer base. However, there is insufficient research to validate the structural causality between customer equity, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty in a previous study of cosmetics consumers. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the direct effect of various marketing activities on the formation of corporate assets and customer behavior. Customer equity can be seen as including all marketing activities to maximize customer value. Therefore, Thus, measuring customer equity is meaningful in looking at how the customer actually recognises the various marketing activities of the entity and demonstrating the relationship between the customer's equity formation and customer's behaviour. In addition, under the backdrop of intensifying competition in the cosmetics industry, cosmetics companies are turning their attention to overseas markets beyond the domestic market. In recent years, Korean cosmetics companies are emerging as leading companies in exporting cosmetics culture and products to the world thanks to continuous product quality improvement and K-Beauty trend. Meanwhile, China's cosmetics market has become a major consumer market in the cosmetics industry due to continued economic growth and consumption growth. In the case of customer equity and previous research, there is a limit to measure the formation of customer equity and customer behavior in a single consumer group. The purpose of this study is to verify the structural relationship between the perceived differences of perceived customer assets, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty among Korean and Chinese cosmetics consumers. From the results of the study, firstly, in the relationship between customer equity and customer satisfaction, Korean and Chinese consumers have the highest positive and positive (+) influence on brand equity as a component of customer equity. In the case of Korea, it has a positive effect on the value asset customer satisfaction and the positive influence on the customer satisfaction of the related asset in China. Second, in the relationship between customer equity and customer loyalty, we found that all three components of customer equity are the factors that shape customer loyalty to Korean and Chinese consumers. Third, for the relationship between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty, customer satisfaction has a positive effect on customer loyalty to Korean and Chinese consumers. Finally, there was a perceptual difference according to consumer group. Value assets are more perceived by Korean consumers, and affluent consumers and customer loyalty are confirmed by Chinese consumers. This study can find academic significance in that it empirically validated the relationship between the customer equity of cosmetics companies on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty and the perceived differences among consumer groups. The significance of this study is that it presented a strategic direction for enhancing the competitiveness of cosmetics companies by suggesting the importance of forming customer equity to enhance customer loyalty in an increasingly competitive market environment.
