Recently, multi-exposure images fusion (MEF) methods have been studied to reduce the dynamic range gap between digital devices(such as CCTV, Mobility black box, smart phone) and human visual systems.Unlike pixel-wise approaches, patch-wise approaches do not require pre/post-processing and produce fused images with more vivid colors and natural appearance using frequency decomposition. However, relatively complicated processing can be computationally expensive and may be un-suitable for use in digital devices that require real-time processing. In this paper, we solve this problem by using the existing patch-wise method as a mathematical method to reduce redundancy and approximate it with pixel-wise method. In experimental data sets frequently used in previous studies, the existing patch-wise method and the proposed method are very similar, and the com-putational time is improved by about 89%. In addition, it is proved that the objective and subjective index is superior to the conventional multiple expo-sure images fusion method, and the proposed method is expected to be appli-cable to devices requiring real-time processing.
