The purpose of this study is to suggest some teaching methods of Korean culture by using the symbolic meaning of the Korean tiger, and to find the uniqueness of the Korean tiger culture. Recently, it ws be recognized that the necessary and importance of cultural education in korean education as a Foreign Language. And for someone to learn a new language, he or she need to understand how a person of that culture thinks. In a word, culture has taken an important place in foreign language teaching and learing studies. Tigers are regarded as a king of animals in Korean culture. At the same time we can say that the Koreans and tigers have shaped one of a special cultual through all the Korean history. In this study, the function of the tiger which is a helper or a punisher, or a coordinate or a contestant is evaluated by a disposition tu be godlike, human, and animal. And tiger has a variaty of symbolic meanings. So it is an interesting elements who leaned the Koreans language and culture.
