In the modern society, use of digital devices has increased due to development of information and communications technology; especially, the emergence of various types and utilization methods of smartphone applications has given rise to a lot of research on public education using smart devices.Meanwhile, talents who have ability and capacity required for the modern society that should be developed through education are creative people equipped with cooperative mind and ability to use digital devices. With the recognition of the necessity for research on teaching and learning guidance for nurturing people who can fill insufficient parts in this era and are required for the modern society, the research focused on cooperative learning of musical creation using apps.The research was conducted based on literature review and creative activities in the process of the 2009 National Revised Curriculum; activities of creating Korean traditional music and general music in 18 types of middle school music textbooks were analyzed and activities in creativity sector that are most frequented and proper for cooperative learning were selected to design guidelines for cooperative learning of musical creation using apps. In addition, to find and apply proper smartphone applications required for teaching and learning guidance, two operating systems - APP Store for iOS and Play Store for Android - were investigated and analyzed. This research on teaching and learning guidance for cooperative learning of musical creation with apps is for classes for creating both general music and Korean traditional music using a cooperative learning model, JigsawⅡ, and apps; also, it promoted participation of learners and creative learning with musical creation based on smart education and cooperative learning.This research is expected to be useful for various following studies on cooperative learning of musical creation using apps.
