The primary objective of this research is to fabricate the graphene nanopowder composite based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) matrix and to characterize the sensitivity of the fabricated graphene/PDMS composite. The fabrication of grpahene/PDMS composite can be successfully achieved by a simple sonication process. From the characterization of the piezoresistive behaviors, the graphene/PDMS composite was found to be employed as an efficient piezoresistor. The average gauge factors of 6.25 to 227 were obtained within the strain range of 2%. The graphene/PDMS composite showed much higher sensitivity than other strain sensors including the conventional strain gauge and composite materials with various carbon fillers, verifying the usefulness of the present graphene/PDMS composite.
