The locus of the shaft center analysis is needed to improve the compressor's efficiency and reliability. In this paper, a theoretical analysis above the lubrication characteristics of a reciprocating compressor has been investigated. The bearing force and locus of the shaft center are analyzed by dynamic analysis of reciprocating compressor. Reynolds boundary conditions have been used for numerical analysis. Newton Raphson method is used to solve the Reynolds equation in order to find lubricating pressure profile and shaft center locus. The results show that Main & Sub Bearing's center locus, friction force, minimum film thickness, eccentricity angle variation under the condition of changing the clearance between shaft and bearing, main bearing length, sub bearing length, shaft diameter and viscosity of the lubricating oil. The results are quite useful for bearing designer.
