As the future work, comprehending the feature each genre is required, and then i need to analyze the transition process of SeoWangmo in accordance with the character more deeply than now.
중국의 서왕모가 한국문학에 어떻게 수용되고 형상화되었는지를 비교문학적 관점에서 고찰한 내용을 요약·정리하면서 결론을 내리면 다음과 같다.첫째로 서왕모의 변모 과정과 변모의 원인은 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다.둘째로 당악 정재 중에서 와 에 수용된 서왕모의 형상은 장생불로(長生不老)를 주관하는 아름다운 여신의 모습이다.셋째로 한국의 문학 작품에 등장하는 서왕모의 모습은 중국의 기존 작품에 등장하는 서왕모의 모습과 유사한 점들이 많이 발견되며, 중국의 문헌 자료에서 많은 부분을 차용한 것으로 파악된다.넷째로 문학 작품에 등장하는 서왕모의 모습은 획일화되어 있다. 대부분의 작품에서 이상적인 세계에서 살고 있으며, 모든 이의 생사를 관장할 수 있는 사랑스러운 여신의 모습을 하고 있다.이번 연구는 고려 시대에 전래한 당악과 조선 중·후기에 창작된 고전소설에 나타난 서왕모의 형상을 중심으로 한·중 양국 간에 문화적·문학적 교류가 이루어진 사실을 집중적으로 조명했다는 점에서 연구사적 의의를 인정할 수 있다. 앞으로 보다 심화된 연구가 필요하며, 한시와 설화까지 아우르는 연구 범위의 확장도 필요한데, 이러한 작업은 후일의 과제로 남긴다.
