The purpose of this study is to develop a discussion from a philosophical perspective on the causes of crime, which is a result of human antisociality. In addition, we aim to explore the possibility of solving anti-social problems inherent in humans through the concept of empathy inherent in Wonhyo's philosophy of harmony and the teachings of the Noble Eightfold Path of Buddhism. The contents and results of this study were as follows. First, the cause of crime was alienation and selfishness caused by objectification and uniformity. Second, in order to reduce crimes caused by alienation and selfishness, an empathetic mind and an attitude of communication were necessary. Third, the method of empathy and communication could be found in Wonhyo's philosophy of harmony. Fourth, a way to reduce crime could be found in the Buddhist Noble Eightfold Path teachings.
