Battery vehicle development is an industry that is in line with the new concept of green development of China's economy and society in the new era. With the further expansion of national policies such as subsidies in the field of electric vehicles in China and the increase of environmental awareness, there is an increasing trend for young consumers to purchase electric vehicles. The purpose of this study is to focus on the meaningful correlation between the minimalist concept of electric car brands and the minimalist car style, to analyze the specific visual performance characteristics of mobile advertising images targeting young people, and to contribute to the production of advertising images that meet consumer requirements. The top 5 new energy vehicle brands published by a representative Chinese data analysis platform in 2022 were screened to analyze the minimalist performance characteristics that appear in the relevant advertising images. The results of the study show that the five brands differed in their minimalist presentation characteristics, particularly in their emphasis on the simplicity of the compositional elements, the use of the entire background graphic elements and the reduction of decorative elements to emphasize the product message. In addition, a clear sense of space is expressed through the active use of white space.
