About 25 years have passed since Process SafetyManagement(PSM) systemwas implemented in Korea in 1996. In the early days, research on PSM was conducted centered on the construction industry. After the 2010s, various studies were conducted to properly establish and improve PSM. However, although petrochemical plants and power plants are enlarged and industries are developing, the system investment for safety management compared to the investment in factory facilities is insufficient, resulting safety accidents still occur frequently at industrial sites. Moreover, sub-contract workers are exposed to the risk of serious fatal accidents by being unprotected at hazardous chemical handling sites. Therefore, this study intends to present a digital safety management platform based on process safety management. Specifically, this study suggests a method to systematicallymanage the work permit approval process based on 12 safety process management elements using a digital safetymanagement platform.
