The purpose of this study is to seek development tasks to revitalize democratic citizenship education in Jeollabuk-do. To this end, the status of democratic citizenship education programs operated by lifelong education institutions in Jeollabuk-do was examined, and interviews were conducted with officials operating democratic citizenship education programs. As a result of the study, the development tasks are as follows. First, through the agreement of members of society, the concept of democratic citizenship education that anyone can easily understand should be defined and the necessity should be re-recognized. Second, it is necessary to promote democratic citizenship education and increase participation by providing a platform that can easily grasp information on the operation status of democratic citizenship education. Third, it must be a lifelong education throughout all generations. Fourth, various programs should be developed through feasibility tests to see if the subject and content of democratic citizenship education are appropriate. Fifth, an institutionalized organizational system is needed so that democratic citizenship education can be systematically activated.
